About Tim Hortons

When the first Tim Hortons opened in Hamilton, Ontario in 1964 there were only two items on the menu: coffee and donuts. A lot has changed over the past five decades, and Tim Hortons now serves specialty coffees like cappuccinos, iced coffees and smoothies, bagels, and an expanded menu of soups, sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches and lunch items have popped up along with each new location.
Over the 1990s and the 2000s, a rapid expansion meant more donuts were served in Canada than any other country in the world. In 1991, the 500th Tim Hortons opened in Aylmer, Quebec, followed swiftly by the 1000th in Ancaster Ontario, almost around the corner from the original Hamilton location. What was once exclusively a staple of Canadian early mornings and trips to the hockey arena has grown globally, with nearly 4,200 locations across the world.

Redeem a Tim Hortons eGift Card
The Tim Hortons eGift Card can be redeemed in-store at participating Tim Hortons locations across Canada or by loading the eGift into the Tim Hortons App.
In–store redemption
When paying for your purchase, present a printed out copy of the eGift Card or display it on a mobile phone, ensuring the card number and PIN code are clearly visible. The amount you spend will be deducted from the card until the balance reaches zero. Be sure to keep the emailed eGift Card safe until you have used the entire balance of the card.
Online redemption with the App
Add the eGift Card’s balance into the Tim Hortons App by tapping the main menu icon, then selecting My Tim’s Balance, then selecting Transfer a Tim Card balance. Type in the two sets of numbers listed on the eGift Card. Click Done and the balance on the eGift Card will be transferred into the App. Use it to order ahead via the app, or order in-store and pay with the App.
